The Scripture talks about a certain kind of standby settlement for God’s people. By God’s people I mean those who daily live for him. These would include those that take delight in living according to his precept and obeying to the fullest his established commands.
In his conversation with Joshua God spelt out his condition for partnership. Joshua is to understand that it will not be just about replacing Moses, he will need to live the kind of life that Moses lived. The kind of life that God rewards. God expected Solomon to emulate his father David so that he can enjoy all that David enjoyed.
In the Book of Isaiah chapter 54:17 God spoke to the prophet about a certain kind of privilege his kind of person should enjoy. He talked about divine protection and preservation. In Malachi 4:1-3 God spoke to prophet Malachi concerning his kind of person and what he stands to enjoy. He should be capable of executing judgment on his enemies. To Jeremiah he spoke concerning his kind of people and what they will stand to gain. You see this in Jeremiah 29:11.
In the New testament Jesus talked about the heritage of those who would do all that he has said they should do. He called such kind of people those that love him. In John 10:10 he talked about a special kind of privilege they will enjoy. Again in John 14: 1-14, Jesus reassured those that will follow him and do his will that they will receive all they will ask for at any point.
David in Psalms 61:5 made a special prayer concerning this heritage that everyone that fears God are entitled to:
For you, God, have heard my vows; you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.
God will never leave us unattended to if we seek his face and do all that he said we must do. He is a God that rewards and SETTLES totally those that do his will and obey his commands. God rewards faithfulness
